The Army SUCKS!

Gary left on August 22. He arrived in Baghram two days later. Since then, he's been stuck there. They give flights out to Special Forces or officers. Which is understandable to a point. But he's now been there going on two weeks doing NOTHING! He is bored senseless and wants to link up with his unit. But he can't. Why? BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY'RE PUTTING HIM!! Everyday he goes and sits at the helicopter place (I'm sure it has an official Army name) and everyday he is not put on a chopper. He is frustrated and feels guilty. He also ran into one of his old soldiers who is in Baghram getting physical therapy for a nerve injury. Don't even ask why this soldier isn't back home like he should be -- it's all just stupid Army politics. I am happy, secretly, though because Gary took the laptop and we talk every morning and night. I know once he links up with his unit this will change. I do not look forward to that. I just think he could've deployed on August 29 with the second wave of soldiers or eve better today, September 5, with the last wave going. But noooooo the Army, in its infinite wisdom, had him on the first flight out. DUMBASSES!! It bugs me that the Rear D commander felt it necessary to get him out of here so quickly when they had no clue what to do with him. Of course, maybe Capt. N didn't know this or he wouldn't have done it because all in all he's a good guy. I stand by my original statement, the Army sucks.... well sometimes. I am awfully dang proud to be my husband's wife though. He's a good soldier!

I'm sorry that he has to be in limbo. I hate that. But, the good thing is,you get to talk to him each day. And you have every right to be proud to be his wife. He should be darn proud to have you, too.

I wish there were something I could say to make you feel better, but, we both know I can't.
So, with that being said, Hugs to you and you are definitely in my thoughts and prayers!!!

I like that you guys get to chat so much, but bummed that he is just stuck there. It does seem so dumb for them to drag him there and leave him when he is coming home in Novemeber, that is like 8 weeks from now, it doesnt make sense.
Is the area he is staying safe?
