Today I walked the golf course

Today I didn't feel like working out but I haven't worked out for three days!!! So, I asked Gary if he'd walk the golf course with me after we dropped Gunner off at daycare. I was thinking I'd walk like 15 minutes in one direction, then turn around. The golf course is 2.2 miles. There are very steep inclines and valleys. I managed to make it about 2 miles. I was so proud of myself! Especially considering that the temperature was about 90 even though it was only 9am. When we were less than 1/4 mile from the car, we came upon some shade and a bench. THANK GOD! Gary jogged the rest of the way to the car and came and picked me up. I was very proud of myself.

On the downside, he's for sure leaving 15 August. My doctor's letter was worded ridiculously and his command sees no reason to leave him back until the 29th. I can't blame them based on the letter.

I want to go walk with you!!! I have difficulty making the last rounds, but I live so close to it that I don't have a choice but to finish and go home. But I'd love a buddy to walk with and we can do the car thing. And I'd be sensitive enough to go get it if you needed me to or slow down and sit for a while; there's a lot of beauty around that golf course.

Regardless, I'm proud of you for doing it. It's a very tough walk. You're amazing that you don't lazily let the surgery do all the work. You actually exercise and do it regularly. I wish I was more like you.

And I wish he didn't have to go. It's like the cup was filled up half way, and you could either say half-full or half-empty... and your doctor basically took one approach where another equal but opposite approach would have caused the commander to let Gary stay home. I hate that. But it's only until December. 4 months is a doable chuck compared to an "entire year." Still sucks, I know.

Have a good day and enjoy your hubby as much as possible!!!

I haven't gone walking in so long...the heat here has been so you are truely motivated :) I am so happy for you, as you write more I see this inner strength showing more and more, you amaze me daily with your ability to cope with all the stress thrown at you...if I lived anywhere near you I would walk with would be a blast to laugh and talk...keep on keepin' on

Dan is off for the next 2 weeks and the kids go back to school next week, so maybe I can convince him to walk with me, but I'm in awe of how motivated you are. Good work. I'm so sorry that Gary has to leave again. I'm here if you need to talk.

Good for you! It is hard to exercise, but it always feels good once you've done it!
