Trying a New Positive Attitude

Mostly I focus on what I haven't done, haven't accomplished, etc. I'm going to try to focus on what I have done.

For instance, today I did not go on my usual 30 minute walk. I didn't feel like going to my counselling appointment so I fibbed and said my kid was sick. Instead of feeling guilty I'm going to remember the following:

* I have never exercised this much, this consistently in my life;

* I DID clean my bathroom and room (which haven't been cleaned in over a month.. I know, that's gross.... but hey it's clean now);

* I DID reschedule my appointment;

* I DID do the "homework" she gave me to do last session;

* It is ok to be lazy on somedays. Just not everyday.

Wish me luck on the positive attitude!

That sounds very assuring. I think sometimes we're too hard on ourselves, and sometimes we're not hard enough. I think your accomplishments are great and I'm glad you intend on noticing them. I need to pat myself on the back more, too, because I'm very strict with myself. I just cleaned the girls' bathtub... so yay. Go us. :-)

You're off to a great "positive" start, but you missed one very major one...

You took pictures of yourself and you KNOW you're lookin' good! :)

I seem to focus on what I didn't get done in a day and forget the million other things I did do. Today we have to shampoo the carpets(puppy spots, thankfully, she's trained and we can get new carpet soon) after the kids go to bed tonight, hubby and I will declutter the bedroom and I have to clean our bathroom, I always have hair stuff all over. Anyway, good luck on the positive attitude, remember, you have stalkers like me rooting for you.
